Notre Dame, IN – Notre Dame Federal Credit Union President/CEO Thomas J. Gryp has been awarded the CEO Trailblazer of the Year Award from Credit Union Times. The 2016 Trailblazer Award winner was announced yesterday.
Since joining Notre Dame FCU in 2010, Gryp has led efforts to radically transform the credit union into a leading regional institution with an extensive and growing national presence.
Gryp implemented technological innovation that included smart ATMs, remote deposit capture, new mobile applications, electronic documents and signatures and a new core processing system. Most recently, Notre Dame FCU was one of the first credit unions in the country to dramatically improve debit and credit card security through the introduction of its Irish Card Shield™ program. Additionally, the credit union initiated the Elevate™ program, a nationwide effort to ignite on-going and sustainable fundraising for private schools and churches.
Notre Dame FCU Chief Financial Officer Michael Goad said Gryp transformed the credit union into a national, twenty-first century financial institution by providing the expertise and vision necessary to lead the organization forward.
“Tom envisions an organization that provides its members all the tools necessary to empower themselves,” Goad said. “We have been able to do all these things while still delivering award-winning service that’s earned Notre Dame FCU the title of ‘Michiana’s Favorite Financial Institution’ for three years in a row.”
