NOTRE DAME, IN – Notre Dame Federal Credit Union (Notre Dame FCU) donated $10,000 to the Kelly Cares Foundation today. Notre Dame FCU President/CEO Tom Gryp presented the check to foundation co-founder Paqui Kelly at the Notre Dame FCU Main Office, 1828 Moreau Drive.

Last month Notre Dame FCU competed against USC Credit Union (USCCU) to raise money for local charities in the fourth annual $10,000 Charity Challenge. Notre Dame FCU won the challenge by generating the most credit card applications between October 24, 2016 and November 25, 2016. 

Each credit union wagered $5,000 on the contest, with the winner taking all and donating $10,000 to the charity of their choice.

Notre Dame FCU’s charity of choice was the Kelly Cares Foundation, an organization that focuses on a variety of initiatives, including breast cancer awareness. Gryp said the area credit union values the Kelly Cares Foundations’ presence in the community, “Notre Dame FCU is thankful for the Kelly Cares Foundation’s programs and initiatives. This is just our way of supporting the hard work they do every day in the fight against breast cancer.”

The foundation is co-founded by University of Notre Dame Head Football Coach Brian Kelly and his wife, Paqui, who is a two-time breast cancer survivor. “Brian and I are thrilled that Notre Dame Federal Credit Union chose the Kelly Cares Foundation as the benefactor for this year’s Charity Challenge. $10,000 will go a long way in supporting our mission and we are very grateful to be the recipient,” remarked Paqui Kelly.
