Dear Owner,

Welcoming a new year is always an exciting time, so full of hope and promise! We are certainly looking forward to another great year in 2024, but in this letter I would like to look back on some of our high points in 2023.

Notre Dame Federal Credit Union truly endeavors to be a genuine partner with all our stakeholders – Member/Owners, partners (employees), and the communities we serve. Each year we strive to find innovative ways to give back and help as many people as possible.

As you know, we not only serve Michiana, but also have physical branches in Lake County, Phoenix, and Tucson. In these and other communities, we believe we can make our greatest impact by supporting local nonprofits who in turn are able to increase their own mission’s impact. We think this is a wise and prudent way to achieve the most possible good with the limited dollars we have to share.

Our success is your success, and we believe in sharing that with you. So much so that in 2023 we gave back 17% of our profits in the form of scholarships, donations, sponsorships, and member givebacks—the same percentage that we gave back in 2022. I can’t think of another financial institution so committed to sharing its success with others.  At the end of the day, it is accomplishments like this that make me most proud to be a part of Notre Dame FCU.

Here are just a few of the noteworthy things we accomplished in 2023:

– Notre Dame FCU once again voted Michiana’s Best Financial Institution (11x) and Best Mortgage Lender (5x) and named one of American Banker’s Best Credit Unions to Work For

– Opened the Elkhart Mortgage Center

– Northwest Indiana Market President Jesse Hunt named Best Banker by the Times of Northwest Indiana

– Awarded 23 scholarships and internships to high school seniors and undergraduate students through our annual scholarship program

– Provided resources for the School City of Whiting to acquire Ollie, the district’s first therapy dog

– Updated the “Mission” brand (Mission Insurance Solutions, Mission Investment Services, and Mission Management & Trust Co.) to align with our efforts in creating a full-service financial network

There is much excitement on the horizon for 2024 as well, all designed to expand our outreach to more and more people. This is possible only because of the loyalty you demonstrate daily to support us and refer us to family and friends. I will continue to do my best to provide you with a financial institution that you will be proud of.
